The School of Civil Aviation focuses on education and innovation in disciplines including air traffic management, civil aviation transportation management, airport operation and management. The School carries out cutting-edge scientific research and critical technology research in conjunction with the significant national needs, focusing on the new generation of air and space communication and navigation, air-ground integrated air traffic system, intelligent navigation, advanced avionics, etc. 

The School of Civil Aviation focuses on a broad range of research areas including but not limited to space-air-ground integrated network and aeronautical broadband communication, air traffic management and transportation planning, avionics and satellite navigation, general aviation, and intelligent operations, and civil aviation finance and regulations.

Currently, the School of Civil Aviation has two research platforms, i.e. Air Traffic Management Academic Platform and Urban Air Mobility Joint Laboratory.
